Program Overview

The BCIT Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is a 22-month full-time diploma that prepares students for a career in ultrasound imaging. The program combines lectures, labs, and clinical experiences to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to perform diagnostic sonography exams of the abdomen, pelvis, blood vessels, and heart. Graduates of the program are eligible to write the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification exam.
