Program Overview
This Gasfitter - Class A program prepares students to design, install, and maintain gas systems in industrial, commercial, and institutional settings. The program consists of two levels of in-school technical training, using applied learning and practical exercises. Students must achieve a minimum passing grade of 70% to complete the program and prepare for a career as a Gasfitter - Class A.

Outline:
- Program Content: Gasfitters – Class A design, install, test, adjust, maintain, and repair lines, appliances, burners, equipment, and accessories in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional sectors. Fuels may include natural gas, manufactured gas, liquefied petroleum gas, digester gas, landfill gas, biogas, or a mixture or dilution of any of these gases and Hydrogen and fuel oils. Appliances and equipment include any gas system, regardless of input, (except vehicle fuel systems), under an appropriate permit.
- Program Structure: The program consists of two levels that cover the in-school technical portion of the apprenticeship training. All levels of training use applied learning in conjunction with practical exercises.

- be an active apprentice registered with SkilledTradesBC to register for apprenticeship training at BCIT.
