Overview:
This program provides a thorough grounding in technical apparel design and manufacturing. Emphasis is placed on pattern making for performance fabrics used in sports, recreation, survival, and protection. The program encompasses advanced pattern making, garment assembly techniques, and the use of advanced materials. Students will gain knowledge of new fibers, fabrics, and trims and learn specific technical construction methods for creating high-performance garments. The program also includes visits to Vancouver-based manufacturers specializing in technical apparel production. Students will create a four-piece capsule collection as their final project.

- Drafting and sewing basic outerwear shell block, including hood

Assessment:
- Final Project: Students will create a collection of two final looks, including a knit piece and a three-layered piece. They will present their final designs to peers, the Dean of The Cut Fashion Design Academy, and the course instructor.
