BHS Silver Challenge Award - Lunge
Overview
Learn to prepare and lunge a horse for exercise in this three-hour integrated training and assessment programme. This course is accredited by The British Horse Society.
Full Description
Lunging can change and expand your horse's exercise routine and is a great way to strengthen your bond. This programme gives you a basic knowledge of the correct lunging method.
Successful candidates will receive a certificate on completion of the course. Successful completion of both this BHS Silver Challenge Award - Lunge and the Silver Challenge Award - Care provides direct entry to the BHS Stage 2 Care and Lunge. A full and detailed syllabus may be obtained from the British Horse Society website.
The instructor/student ratio is 1:12.
Free parking is available on campus in Writtle: we'll issue a permit to you and ask that it's clearly displayed in your vehicle. Tea and coffee-making facilities are available; please bring any other refreshments.
Who Should Attend?
This programme is designed for people (over age 14) who require basic knowledge of the correct lunging method, enabling them to prepare and lunge a horse for exercise.

Entry Requirements
You must be over 14 to join this course; parental consent will be required.
Please come appropriately dressed for an equine yard with an approved riding hat, gloves and boots.
By making a booking you are declaring yourself medically fit to participate in the course.
