Immunisation and Vaccination - Introduction

Overview

This workshop will provide you with an overview of the aims of immunisation, maintenance of the cold chain, types of vaccines, promoting uptake, new developments, consent/legal issues, and anaphylaxis management.

This workshop will provide an overview of:


  • The aims of immunisation
  • Maintenance of the cold chain
  • Types of vaccines
  • Promoting uptake
  • New developments
  • Consent and legal issues
  • Anaphylaxis management

You will be emailed a pre-course booklet with relevant links which contain immunisation and vaccine information, in accordance with the Health Protection Agency recommendations.


Who Should Attend?

You will benefit from this workshop as a nurse who is new to practice or new to the process of immunisation and vaccination.

Entry Requirements

Our short course is for nurses who are new to practice, or new to the process of immunisation and vaccination. You'll be required to carry out immunisation and vaccination as part of your role.
