MEWP – Mobile Elevated Work Platform (NPTC)

Overview

Learn to work from a MEWP in this one day integrated training and assessment programme, which is NPTC City & Guilds approved.


Full Description

We can train you on the following machine types:


  • Vehicle mounted up to 26 metres
  • Trailer mount / push around
  • Scissor lift
  • Self-propelled boom or spider

Your training will take into account the operational differences relevant to that machine.


Topics you will cover include:


  • Health and safety
  • Legislation
  • Maintenance
  • Safety checks
  • Operation
  • Preparing the platform for transport

The instructor/student ratio is 1:2.

This course is for anyone wishing to work from a MEWP.

Entry Requirements

This intensive practical course requires a good level of physical fitness and an ability to study written technical information. The module requires reading and interpreting of information such as safety instructions and technical knowledge.


We are governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations therefore candidates will not be allowed to start the course without wearing steel toe capped boots or shoes, gloves and suitable protective clothing which provides full cover for arms and legs. We strongly recommend also wearing a high visibility vest.
