Overview
This two-day workshop covers theoretical and practical aspects of care for Health Care Assistants (HCAs) working in mental health settings.
Course Description
Day 1
- ABCDE approach theory
- Explanation of and familiarisation with equipment used from cardiac/trolley/grab bag eg naso-pharyngeal/oro-pharyngeal tubes, suction machine and catheters
- Vital signs theory and practice (TPR, SPO2)
- Blood pressure theory and practice
- ECG theory and practice
Day 2
- Neuro-obs theory and practice
- Blood capillary glucose monitoring theory and practice
- Sepsis theory-demonstration of Sepsis 6 protocol
- Physical health scenarios
Who Should Attend?
This workshop will benefit all Health Care Assistants (HCAs) currently working in a mental health setting.
