Program Overview

This 14-week part-time course provides an introduction to dementia care, exploring the differences between normal aging and dementia, and the assessment and diagnosis of this disease. Students will learn about the appropriate physical and emotional environment, the effects of dementia on clients, caregivers, and the family unit, and the role of research and public and professional education.
