Program Overview


Gas Technician 2: Domestic Appliance Theory

Overview

This course, which is a requirement of the full Gas Technician 2 certification, focuses on topics from Modules 10-16 of the Technical Standards and Safety Authority approved curriculum. The course is delivered through distance learning and the topics include advanced piping and tubing systems, basic electricity, controls (mechanical and electronic), building as a system, domestic and non-vented appliances, meters, valves, and domestic gas-fired refrigerators. Upon completing this course, students will understand how to install, service, and maintain gas-fired appliances.
Prerequisite: Gas Technician 3 certificate


Admission Requirements

You may enroll in a Continuing Education course at Canadore College if you are 19 years of age or older or if you have earned an Ontario Secondary School Diploma/Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
