Program Overview


Gas Technician 3 - Theory Part 2

Overview

This course is the second of two theoretical training courses in the Gas Technician 3 program at Canadore College. The course focuses on topics from Modules 1 to 9 in the Technical Standards and Safety Authority approved curriculum, which has been adopted as the minimum standard for the training and certification of gas technicians in the Province of Ontario. Topics will include safety, fasteners, hand and power tools, fuel properties and safe handling, installation codes, acts and regulations, electricity, technical skills (manuals, specifications, schematics, drawings, graphs), customer relations, piping and tubing systems, and an introduction to gas appliances.


Admission Requirements

You may enroll in a Continuing Education course at Canadore College if you are 19 years of age or older or if you have earned an Ontario Secondary School Diploma/Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
