Program Overview

This part-time, 14-week Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program provides an understanding of GIS fundamental concepts and terminology, including its role in business, government, surveying, and natural resources. Students will learn how to create and manipulate data using GIS, examine the collection, management, analysis, and presentation of spatial data, and explore concepts of database systems, data modeling, and digital mapping. The program requires the use of Quantum GIS (QGIS) software, which is free and works on Windows, Macs, and Linux. Textbooks are not included in the course fees and must be purchased separately.
