Overview

The Physical Therapy program at McGill University is designed for individuals passionate about medical sciences and motivated by helping people improve their quality of life. Physiotherapy, also known as physical therapy, is a client-focused health care profession that utilizes exercise, physical modalities, manual therapy approaches, assistive devices, education, and lifestyle management to enhance people's mobility, physical activity, and overall health and well-being.

Program Details

The BSc. Rehabilitation Science in Physical Therapy Major program provides students with a basic health sciences foundation and undergraduate-level courses specific to the practice of physiotherapy. The curriculum emphasizes clinical reasoning, diagnostics, evidence-based practice, community rehabilitation, teamwork, and professionalism as essential components for the development of a humanistic, ethical, knowledgeable, competent, critical thinking, and problem-solving physiotherapist.

Careers

Physiotherapists contribute to multidisciplinary teams through patient evaluation, treatment planning and delivery, education, research, and consultation in clinics, industry, and the community. Student Experience

Students in the undergraduate physiotherapy program at McGill have a unique opportunity to learn with occupational therapy students as the two programs are housed in the same buildings. The Physical and Occupational Therapy Undergraduate Society (POTUS) is an active student-operated council that organizes student social events and events linking professors and clinicians in the field of occupational therapy. This program is also offered by extension at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC).
