- DMA 501 Introduction to Media Design
- DMA 505 Graphic Design Process
- One of the following courses:
- MDIA 582 Legal Issues in Media
- ADPR 567 Research Methods
- MDIA 565 Ethical Issues in Media
- Three additional graduate courses from the Department of Media
Interactive Design
- Emphasizes designing interactive media products (websites, apps, augmented reality, immersive media experiences), user experience (UX) design, and research.

- DMA 545 Interactive Design Studio (Methods)
- DMA 562 Elements of User Experience (UX) Design
- DMA 564 Human Computer Interaction
- DMA 572 Development Studio
- Two additional graduate courses from the Department of Media Courses completed for the certificate can be transferred to the M.F.A. program upon request prior to the completion of the final course.
