Program Overview
The Registered Nurse First Assistant program at St. Charles Community College is a six-credit hour program with three hours of classroom/theory presentation and three hours of approved internship program. This program prepares nurses to assist surgeons in the operating room and is approved by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN). To be eligible for the program, applicants must have a bachelor's degree, current RN license, and two years of full-time peri-operative experience or four years of part-time experience.
