Program Overview

The Sonography Program at New York School of Career and Applied Studies is a 22-month, full-time Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree program that prepares students to become diagnostic medical sonographers and ultrasound technicians. The program qualifies graduates for employment as entry-level sonographers in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and medical offices. Graduates are eligible to apply to take the national registry examination from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
