Program Overview

This film scoring program offers a comprehensive overview of music placement, synchronization, and the use of musical elements in film. Through remote Zoom meetings and in-person recording sessions, students will learn techniques for creating effective film scores using both MIDI pre-records and live professional musicians. The program is led by Mark Smythe and covers topics such as spotting, synchronization, dramatic utilization of musical elements, and writing cues using MIDI.
