Acting for the Camera II Course

Program Overview

This program focuses on developing flexibility and skills for actors in front of the camera. Students practice in various styles, including features, sitcoms, and commercials, and perform individual and ensemble scenes of increasing complexity. The final project is a three-person scene that is edited to create a show reel for the student's portfolio.

• Practice in all styles that you may audition such as features, sitcoms, commercials, and others
• Perform individual and ensemble scenes of increasing complexity
• Use your final performances as the basis for your reel

Structure:

• Building on the skills learned in Acting for the Camera I
• Practice in all styles that you may audition--features, sitcoms, TV dramas and commercials
• Develop camera techniques in scene study using scripts from TV series, sitcoms and films
• Learn blocking and continuity with emphasis on master, two-shots and close-ups
• Perform individual and ensemble scenes increasing in complexity in terms of emotion and subtext
• Final project is a three-person scene
• Material from the final project is edited and becomes the basis for developing your show reel
