Course Description

The course, Interior Architecture Studio I, is the first in a series of studio courses where students apply fundamental design principles to the layout of interior spaces, incorporating ergonomics and human factors.

Course Objectives

• Learn how to develop a space while incorporating ergonomics and human factors
• Explore methods of analyzing a client's program
• Become familiar with current ADA codes and clearance requirements
• Understand the required circulation and exit paths for various building types

Prerequisites

• Completion of Design Communication I, II, and III with a grade of B or better
• Strong recommendation for students to complete the three Digital Presentation courses before enrolling
