Program Overview

This course explores the history of the Severan dynasty in Rome, which was the first time the empire was ruled by Romans of African and Syrian descent. The course will examine how the dynasty took power and the challenges its emperors faced in a rapidly changing Roman world. The course will be recorded, and students will have access to the video for 30 days.
