Program Overview

This Osher course explores the history of ceramic tiles from all over the world, featuring the variety of techniques and infinite color palette of ceramic glazes used. Design influences from around the world inspire these stories in ceramics from the Middle Ages to modern times, and the stories of the contributions of influential patrons, tile manufacturers, and tile artisans are woven into the artistic times in which they lived and practiced.
