Program Overview

This Introductory Sociology course provides an overview of the characteristics of social life, processes of social interaction, and tools of sociological investigation. It explores how everyday experiences are shaped by social, cultural, historical, political, and economic factors, and applies sociological ideas to lived experiences to understand the connections between everyday life and social dynamics. The course also examines sociological methods and theory to understand the value of social science research and multiple theoretical perspectives on social phenomena.
