Infectious Disease Epidemiology in Health Care Settings
The course introduces disease and transmission characteristics, and the descriptive epidemiology of infectious agents in a hospital and healthcare setting.
Course Description
The course will help students understand the theoretical basis of pathogen transmission and what factors determine patterns of disease occurrence. Students will learn how to apply this understanding to disease prevention and control. The overall goal is to introduce students to the special design, measurement, analysis, and intervention issues associated with the epidemiology of infectious diseases.
