The Undergraduate Certificate in Auditing and Assurance requires the completion of 50 credit points of core units.

  • BEA213 Data Analytics for Accounting: Introduces students to the fundamentals of data analytics in the context of accounting, exploring the use of data visualization, data mining, and predictive analytics techniques to extract insights from accounting data.
  • BFA103 Accountability and Accounting: Examines the role of accounting in providing accountability in organizations, focusing on the ethical and social responsibilities of accountants and the importance of transparency and disclosure in financial reporting.
  • BFA109 Applied Accounting Systems: Provides a foundation in accounting information systems, covering the design, implementation, and use of accounting software, the integration of accounting systems with other business systems, and the role of accounting systems in supporting decision-making.
  • BFA303 Auditing and Assurance Services: Introduces the key concepts of auditing and the modern audit practice environment within the Australian professional and legal framework.
  • Covers the planning, execution, and reporting of audits, as well as the ethical and professional responsibilities of auditors.

Entry Requirements:

For Domestic students We encourage you to apply for the courses you most want to study. If you are not eligible to enter your chosen course right now, the UTAS admissions team will work with you to find the best pathway option. Domestic applicants who recently completed secondary education (in the past two years) This course does not use ATAR as part of the admission process. To be eligible for an offer, applicants must have completed the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) or an equivalent qualification. Domestic applicants with higher education study To be eligible for an offer, you must have: Partially completed an undergraduate course at Diploma level or higher (or equivalent). You must have completed at least one unit of study (equivalent to 12.5 UTAS credit points) at 100 level or higher and which may include 100 level units completed in the UTAS Diploma of University Studies. If you have failed any units, your application may be subject to further review before an offer is made; OR Completed the UTAS University Preparation Program (or an equivalent qualification offered by an Australian University). Domestic applicants with VET / TAFE study To be eligible for an offer, you must have completed a Certificate III or higher (or equivalent) in any discipline. Applications on the basis of work or life experience Applicants without senior secondary, tertiary or VET / TAFE study can complete a personal competency statement. Applicants may be eligible for an offer if they have relevant work and / or life experiences which demonstrate a capacity to succeed in this course. Prerequisites Nil. Special Consideration If your ability to access or participate in education has been affected by circumstances beyond your control, you can apply for special consideration as part of your application. We will consider a range of factors for special consideration, including economic hardship, a serious medical condition or disability. We can only approve applications for special consideration where we are confident that you have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in your studies. If your application is not approved, the admissions team will work with you to find the best alternative pathway to your chosen course. Special consideration is not available for international applicants.
