Completion of the Undergraduate Certificate in Education requires the completion of 50 credit points of Core units from the schedule:
- EDU104 Growth and Motor Development Across the Lifespan (12.5 credit points): Prepares educators to meet the maturational needs of diverse learners by providing a foundational understanding of physical and cognitive development from conception through adulthood, with an emphasis on early childhood.
- EDU106 Academic Literacies (12.5 credit points): Introduces academic literacies, essential skills for successful university engagement, and provides opportunities to develop personal literacy skills and identify their application in education support contexts.
- EES160 Foundations of Literacy Support (12.5 credit points): Introduces pedagogies for supporting literacy learning in classrooms, provides opportunities to develop personal literacy skills, and identifies their application in education support contexts.
- EES161 The Role of Education Support (12.5 credit points): Introduces concepts and theories related to the professional activity of education support workers in the classroom, discusses practical skills required in work contexts, and provides opportunities to critically examine the role.
- EES162 Foundations of Numeracy Support (12.5 credit points): Introduces pedagogies for supporting mathematics learning in classrooms, provides opportunities to develop personal numeracy skills, and identifies their application in education support contexts.
- EES163 Education Support in Practice (12.5 credit points): Assists in developing understanding of working with children in a classroom support capacity, provides opportunities for practical activities through work-integrated learning, online collaboration, and discussion, and has a field experience component.

Entry Requirements:
Domestic
- Applicants who have recently completed secondary education: Completed the TCE (or equivalent)
- Applicants with higher education study: Completed at least one undergraduate unit (equivalent to 12.5 UTAS credit points)
- Applicants with VET/TAFE study: A completed VET Certificate III or higher
- Applicants with work and life experience: If you have not successfully completed senior secondary, tertiary or TAFE/VET study, but have relevant work and life experience, you can complete a personal competency statement. You may be eligible for an offer if you have work and life experiences that demonstrate a capacity to succeed in this course.
