Program Overview

The Indigenous Studies MA program at the University of Manitoba immerses students in Indigenous perspectives through coursework in history, worldviews, and research methods. Students develop skills in qualitative interviewing, fieldwork, and writing, culminating in either a thesis or major research paper. The program fosters an understanding of Indigenous experiences and prepares graduates for careers in research, education, and community engagement.
