About Program

Program Overview

The Master of Social Work based in Indigenous Knowledges at the University of Manitoba empowers students to work from Indigenous perspectives, understand social justice and anti-oppressive practices, and explore Indigenous forms of helping. The program offers two entry routes: a foundation level for those without a BSW degree and specialized MSW-IK courses for those with a BSW. Graduates are prepared for a range of careers in human services, including family therapy, case management, and policy analysis.
