Program Overview

This course explores Canadian case law and legislation relevant to corrections, including the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Criminal Code, and Corrections and Conditional Release Act. Students examine the role of correctional staff in light of these laws, considering topics such as sentencing, inmate rights, and the overrepresentation of Indigenous offenders in the correctional system.
