Program Overview

The Appalachian Studies Minor is an interdisciplinary program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the Appalachian region, its culture, environment, and pressing issues. Through core courses and guided electives, students gain knowledge applicable to careers in fields such as public health, medicine, teaching, and non-profit work, where interaction with people in Appalachia is essential.
