The M.D./M.P.H. dual degree program at Quillen College of Medicine allows students to pursue a medical degree and a Master of Public Health simultaneously or over five years. The program aims to equip physicians with knowledge and skills for careers in academic medicine, public health, or public health leadership. Students can complete the M.P.H. within four years of medical school or take a year off to focus on the M.P.H. degree.

  • The Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degree (M.D./M.P.H.)
  • is a four or five-year dual degree program.
  • Students at Quillen College of Medicine may simultaneously pursue a master's degree from the ETSU College of Public Health in addition to their medical degree.
  • Objectives:
  • To provide physicians with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in academic medicine or public health, or public health leadership at the local, state or federal level.
  • Description:
  • Students may choose to complete the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree within their 4 years of medical school or they may choose to take one year off from the Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.)
  • to complete their MPH degree.
  • The QCOM Registrars office and the college of public health will work together with the student to create a schedule of completion for the MPH courses.
