Description
The general purpose of the program is twofold. On the one hand, to help the student acquire in-depth knowledge in the field of specialization through (a) attending pedagogical courses at an advanced level, (b) studying relevant literature, and (c) interacting with the Members of the Department of Education and other students. On the other hand, the program aims to cultivate research skills through (a) attending special courses on quantitative and qualitative research, (b) conducting small-scale research within the framework of various courses or/and preparing a Master's Thesis (c) participating in seminars/conferences with research content. In general, the overall purpose of the program is to help the student become a thinking person and a scientist educator.

Admission
Minimum requirement for admission to the postgraduate program is the possession of a degree (Bachelor's Degree), from a recognized university.
In addition, applicants must meet the following admission criteria:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified Copy of Degree
- Certified Copy of Analytical Transcript
- Personal Statement of Goals and Research Interests (about 2 pages) - A letter in which the individual skills and abilities of the applicant, their biography, as well as their expectations from the program and how it will help them in their personal development and career advancement.
Evaluation
Courses include lectures, assignments, teleconferences, and a final exam at the end of each semester. There is continuous evaluation with a weight of about 40%. For continuous evaluation, there are mandatory weekly interactive activities and a choice of other assignments/studies/presentations or/and evaluation of positive participation in the course. There is also a final evaluation with a weight, which varies between 60%. The student is informed about their performance in each course. The grades of the individual courses are combined and, based on a special algorithm, the weighted average of the semester and the cumulative weighted average for the entire studies are calculated.
Graduation
The student must complete 90 ECTS and all program requirements.
Must complete courses, in the correct ratio of compulsory and elective, which amount to 90 ECTS credits.
A minimum weighted average of 2.0 in the entire studies is also required.
The student must successfully complete:
- Two research and evaluation courses (20 ECTS)
- Two courses from the Theoretical Foundations of Education (20 ECTS)
- Two compulsory courses in the direction (20 ECTS) and three elective courses in the direction (30 ECTS) (Total 50 ECTS)
*In case the student chooses the Master's Thesis (30 ECTS) then they are exempt from one course of the Theoretical Foundations of Education (10 ECTS) and two elective courses in the direction (20 ECTS).
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Deepen their knowledge in the field of specialization.
- Understand basic concepts, principles, and models of specialization and transfer this knowledge to the school context.
- Critically examine research results in specialization and their implications for problems faced by the school unit and the education system.
- Identify problems at the level of the school unit and the system and plan research to address them.
- Analyze educational problems critically, examining their sociological, psychological, and philosophical dimensions, and design action to address them.
- Take on leadership roles related to specialization, aiming to improve existing practices or introduce new processes.
- Contribute to the modernization of practices applied in specialization, e.g., Special Education.
- Apply skills acquired to address everyday problems, e.g., student/system/program evaluation, planning and decision-making, communication with internal and external audiences, guidance, training, and development.
- Utilize human capital when introducing innovations and new practices and processes.
- Act as agents of change and innovation and support improvement efforts.
