Masonry

Program Details

Hands-on shop experience is the basis for Kwantlen's Masonry program. Students will learn to work with brick, concrete and glass block, terra cotta and stone. Masonry involves a lot of physical and outdoor work, using power and hand tools, and material moving equipment.


Foundation Training

Full-time: 21 weeks, Off-Campus

Program: Foundation training program prepares students for employment as a Mason (Bricklayer) apprentice. A mason's work can be laying a simple wall or installing an ornate exterior on a high-rise building. Students who successfully complete the Masonry: Citation (Foundation) will learn blueprint reading, building codes, industry safety requirements and guidelines for handling hazardous materials.


YTT Training

Currently offered in partnership with various school districts
