Program Overview
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of business principles and practices. The program aims to develop the fundamental knowledge and skills required to become effective and responsible managers and leaders in the global economy.
Program Structure
To qualify for the BBA, a candidate shall accrue an aggregate of at least 144 credit points, which includes first-year foundation subjects, major subjects, integrative business capstone, and general electives.
First Year Foundation Subjects
The first year of the program includes the following foundation subjects:
- Accounting for Decision Making (ACCY121)
- Accounting Principles (ACCY122)
- Responsible Business (BUS 101)
- Statistics for Business (BUS 121)
- Economic Essentials for Business (ECON100)
- Introductory Principles of Finance (FIN 111)
- Introduction to Management (MGMT110)
- Marketing Principles (MARK101)
Students are also required to choose any five business subjects, each worth 6 credit points, from the school's approved list.
General Elective Subjects
Students are required to choose an additional three elective subjects, each worth 6 credit points, from the school's approved list.
Capstone
The Integrative Business Capstone (BUS 331) enables students to apply the principles of ethical, socially responsible, and sustainable commerce in a simulated business environment.
Elective Subjects
Students are required to choose an additional four elective subjects, each worth 6 credit points, from the school's approved list.
Emirati Studies
Students must complete 6 credit points of General Education subjects in the area of Emirati Studies as part of the 144 credit points. The following subjects are available:

- Society and Environment – Resources, Challenges, Futures (GEOG222)

English Language Requirements
At UOWD, all classes are taught in English, and students will need to submit one of the following certificates of English language proficiency:
- IELTS (Academic): Overall IELTS score of 6.0 and Minimum score of 6.0 in Reading and Writing, 5.0 in Listening and Speaking
- TOEFL (Internet-based): 79 with not less than 18 in Reading and Writing, 16 in Listening and Speaking
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 54 overall with Minimum 54 PTE Communicative Skill Scores
Credit for Prior Learning
If students are seeking advanced standing status, they will need to submit an official academic transcript showing all courses studied and the grades obtained, syllabus details for the courses they have successfully completed, and an explanation of the grading system.

Tuition Fees
The yearly fees for the BBA program at UOWD are AED 60,429 / USD 16,466 (VAT 5% inclusive). The fees will vary depending on the number of subjects enrolled in.
