Assessment Only Route to QTS

Program Overview

The Assessment Only Route to QTS (AOR to QTS) is a program for experienced teachers with at least two years of experience who wish to obtain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The program involves an individualized assessment plan tailored to the candidate's needs, taking place in their current school over a maximum of 12 weeks. Upon successful completion, candidates will be awarded QTS and enter a period as an Early Career Teacher (ECT) with ongoing support and assessment.

Other: The Assessment Only Route to QTS (AOR to QTS) is a program for experienced teachers who have been teaching whole classes for a minimum of two years.

Eligibility:

• Two years of teaching experience in two different schools.
• Significant experience of two key stages across one of the following age ranges: 3-11 (primary), 7-14 (middle), or 11-19 (secondary).

Assessment:

• Takes place in the school where you are employed.
• Maximum of 12 weeks.
• Individualized assessment plan to suit your requirements.
• You will be expected to attend an interview.

Next Steps:

• If awarded QTS, begin a period as an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
