Program Description:
This Master of Science program exposes students to an enriching curriculum focusing on the theoretical and practical aspects of the Metaverse. The program delves into key areas such as NFTs, Web 3.0 architecture, digital assets, Extended Reality, monetization strategies, virtual world architectures, and social, legal, and ethical issues within the Metaverse landscape. Students have the flexibility to choose elective courses that align with their specific interests and career goals. These electives delve into advanced topics such as virtual economies, tokenomics, data science for the Metaverse, emerging Metaverse trends, virtual and augmented reality development, game programming, smart contract programming, blockchain systems and architectures, and interactive design. By mastering theoretical principles, state-of-the-art research, and relevant case studies, graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to become highly skilled developers, consultants, entrepreneurs, or financial professionals within the Metaverse field. - Students can choose to complete either a Master Thesis (META-551DL) or a Practicum (META-552DL) as part of this section.
- The Thesis or Practicum can replace 3 courses (30 ECTS) from the Thematic Areas/Specialization.
- The Thesis or Practicum must be related to the chosen specialization area to qualify for the concentration.
Assessment:
- Course assessment typically includes a final exam and continuous assessment throughout the semester.
- Continuous assessment may comprise weekly interactive activities, projects, online forum participation, and other relevant activities.
- Letter grades are calculated based on the weightage of the final exam and continuous assessment components.
- A minimum cumulative grade point average (CPA) of 2.0 is required to graduate.
