HND5057F French B2:

This module focuses on developing advanced grammar skills, expanding vocabulary, and enhancing communication skills in a tourism context.


HND5071F FIELD VISITS - FRENCH:

This module provides practical experience through guided field visits to various historical and cultural sites in Malta. Students will practice their French communication skills while gaining in-depth knowledge of these sites.


Course Schedule:

The course will commence in the academic year 2023/24, starting on October 2nd, 2023. The exact schedule, including specific dates for each module and field visit, will be available closer to the start date.


Individual Module Descriptions:

  • HND5057F French B2: This module comprises 40 hours of online lectures and interactive activities delivered by experienced French language instructors.
  • The focus is on developing advanced grammar and vocabulary skills, particularly in the context of tourism. Participants will learn how to conduct conversations with tourists, describe cultural and historical sites, and present information effectively.
  • HND5071F FIELD VISITS - FRENCH: This module involves 12 hours of guided field visits to various historical and cultural sites in Malta.
  • Participants will have the opportunity to practice their French communication skills while learning about the history, culture, and significance of these sites from expert tour guides. # Assessment: Assessment for both modules will be based on a combination of:
  • Formative assessments: These will include regular online quizzes, assignments, and class participation to monitor individual progress and understanding.
  • Summative assessments: These will consist of a written exam for the French B2 module and a presentation on one of the visited sites for the Field Visits module.
  • The specific weighting of each assessment component will be outlined in the course syllabus, which will be provided at the start of the program. # Teaching: The course is delivered online through interactive lectures, discussions, and activities.
