Program Overview

The American Studies program at Fairfield University explores the idea of America through cultural contexts such as race, gender, and class. Students engage with the unfolding narratives of America within a global context and consider their own responsibilities as participants. The program offers a variety of courses and electives, with faculty representing diverse fields, and prepares students for careers in education, journalism, politics, and more. Students also have the opportunity to participate in an annual on-campus conference and conduct research projects.
