Program Overview

The Registered Nurse Competence Training Scheme is a 7-week program designed to prepare overseas registered nurses for professional nursing practice in New Zealand. It aligns with the Nursing Council of New Zealand's requirements and provides a pathway to gain New Zealand registration. The program blends theory and practice, with two weeks of classroom instruction and five weeks of clinical practicum, covering topics such as the New Zealand healthcare system, cultural safety in nursing, and clinical skills and competencies. Graduates are prepared to enter the workforce with a strong foundation in nursing theory and practice within the New Zealand healthcare context.
