The Florence Institute of Design International offers various programs in Interior Design, including Diplomas, Bachelors, and Masters. The programs are designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in Interior Design, focusing on techniques and design processes used by Italy's Interior Design profession.

Program Details

Interior Design Courses

• Duration: 1 year (30 weeks)
• Language: English
• Description: The program focuses on the techniques and design process used by Italy's Interior Design profession. Students will study form and functionality aspects in Studio Design Courses and create virtual 3D models of interiors and furniture in computer classes.
• Software: AutoCAD, 3d Studio Max, Sketchup, and VRAY
• Main Focus: Studio Design Course, covering space planning, Furniture Design, Interior Decoration, textures, color schemes, and lighting

Objectives

By the end of the courses, Interior Design students will have acquired the training and portfolio necessary to interview for positions in interior design firms, furniture design studios, or architecture studios.

Teachings

The faculty members of the Interior design program are all registered architects or PHD level professors, with a respected reputation for dynamic teaching methods, motivating course material, and interactive learning.

Field Trips

Field trips form an integral part of The Florence Institute's curriculum, with visits to museums, cultural sites, and furniture exhibitions. Students should budget an additional 200 Euro per semester for travel and ticket costs.

Academic Courses

1 & 2 Years

• Duration: 1 year or 2 years

• Description: The program is ideal for students new to the field of Interior Design, rapidly moving from fundamental design principals to the realization of detailed architectural drawings, renderings, and material studies.

Bachelor Degree

• Duration: 3 years
• Language: English
• Description: The Bachelor Degree of BA Interior Design is issued in collaboration with Goldsmiths, University of London, with all courses held in English.

Master of Interior Design

• Duration: 30 weeks (1 year)
• Language: English
• Description: The Master of Interior Design is perfect for young graduates or professionals working in design interested in attending a specialization course. The objective of the Master is to produce a new professional quality by combining creative and technical skills.

Furniture Design Summer Courses

• Duration: 4 weeks
• Language: English
• Description: The purpose of the short summer course is to develop students' understanding and conceptual skills of all aspects of furniture design from design to production to the development of prototypes.
