Making Colour Etchings: A Short Course Overview
A five-day intensive workshop
designed to help art practitioners with some prior printmaking experience develop
Focus:
- various acid resistant grounds and aquatints
Day 1:
- Introduction & prep
- Test plate practice
- Developing larger plates
Day 2:
- Porthmeor Studios and Tate in St Ives
- Etching with "the Sugar Lift" demonstration
- Independent large plate development
Day 4:
- Colour exploration: introduction and demonstration (3 multi-colour methods)
- Supported skill development for individual etching/printing
Day 5:
- Best-practice registration methods for etching techniques
- Continued print/resolve project
- Private View & student discussion
