How are Preparation Programmes taught?

Dependent on the students’ level of language and academic abilities, these programmes can be taught for one, two or three terms. As well as strengthening English language and academic skills, we will prepare students to learn in a typical British classroom environment. This includes skill development in areas such as pair work, project work, independent reading, discussion work, team building. Physical Education (PE) and Personal Health and Social Education (PHSE) also form part of our preparatory curriculum.

Assessment

Students have regular internal tests on the full range of English language skills; reading, writing, listening and speaking throughout the programme. Formal external assessments take place at the end of the programme which will be used to determine the student’s suitability to progress onto the relevant academic programme.
