The Certificate in Strategic Supply Management for MMC is a microcredential/undergraduate program that aims to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage supply chains in the context of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). Strategic Supply Management for Modern Methods of Construction

  • This module introduces and develops the key concepts in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and strategic supply management.
  • It examines procurement and supply chain models/frameworks and explores the possible roadmaps and best choice points for a construction business to establish and maintain effective and efficient MMC supply chains.
  • The module presents models, concepts, and solutions that are important for the design, control, operation, and management of supply chains in MMC.
  • It supports graduates engaging with a broad range of MMC projects, including those for the development of housing, public buildings, industrial facilities, data centers, hospitals, schools, infrastructure, etc.
  • The learner develops an appreciation of how MMC will shape and affect decisions for the operation and sustainable growth of a construction or related organization and build a competitive advantage through strategic supply management.

Entry Requirements

  • This program is aimed at learners who currently hold an NFQ Level 7, or higher, cognate qualification, and who wish to achieve a Level 8 qualification in Strategic Supply Management for MMC (Modern Methods of Construction).
  • Applicants must be employed in a construction/related business and have at least one year's experience.
  • Where English is not the learner's first language, a minimum English language proficiency of CEF B2+ or equivalent is required.
  • Candidates with English language levels below CEF B2+ must first reach this minimum standard before enrolling on the academic program.
  • Applicants without the academic entry requirements may also apply for entry to the program.

Tuition Fees

  • Irish/EU Living in Ireland: EUR 1,445.00 (+ academic admin fees + 2% LPC)
  • A 31% subsidy from the Construction Professional Skillnet is available to eligible applicants.
  • To receive funding, you must work in the private sector. Public sector workers are not eligible for Skillnet funding.
  • All private sector businesses of any size, including sole traders, based in the Republic of Ireland are eligible to undertake part-funded upskilling with Skillnet Ireland.
  • Please note: the company must pay the course fee. Funding is not available to individual applicants.

Progression

  • Graduates will gain the Supply Chain Management competencies required to engage with a broad range of MMC projects, including those for the development of housing, public buildings, industrial facilities, data centers, hospitals, schools, infrastructure, etc.

  • Applicants must hold a recognized NFQ Level 7 (or higher) qualification in a cognate field.
  • At least one year of experience in the construction/related business is required.
  • Applicants with English as a second language must demonstrate a minimum CEF B2+ proficiency.
  • Applicants without the required academic qualifications may be considered based on professional experience and commitment to further education.
  • A 31% subsidy from the Construction Professional Skillnet is available for eligible applicants, reducing the program cost to €900 (a saving of €395). To be eligible, applicants must be employed in the private sector.
