STEM Program Designation
Wentworth’s Master of Architecture program has a federal STEM designation, which provides a potential 24-month Operational Practice Training (OPT) extension for international students studying on an F-1 visa.
Entry Requirements:
1-Year Track:
- For graduates of Wentworth’s BS in Architecture program:
- Must have completed a B.S. in Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
2-Year Track:
- **For candidates who have a pre-professional B.A. or B.S.
- Must have a pre-professional B.A. or B.S.
- Must have completed prerequisites in architectural design, history, theory, and technology.
- **For candidates who have a B.S.
- in Interior Design from Wentworth:
- Must have a B.S. in Interior Design from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
- Must have completed additional coursework in architectural design and technology.
3-Year Track:
- For candidates who have a Bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than Architecture:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must have completed prerequisite courses in mathematics, science, and humanities.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- International students:
- Must demonstrate English proficiency by submitting a TOEFL score of 80 or an IELTS score of 7.0.
- All students must submit a portfolio of their work, a letter of intent, and two letters of recommendation. Students must meet the minimum GPA and prerequisite course requirements for their chosen track and may also need to demonstrate English language proficiency. Additionally, all students must submit a portfolio, letter of intent, and letters of recommendation.
