Entry Requirements


Domestic Students:

  • Year 12: ATAR of 75
  • Diploma: Completion of a La Trobe Diploma or equivalent qualification with a minimum GPA of 5.0
  • Pathway Programs: Successful completion of a La Trobe Pathway Program with a minimum GPA of 5.0
  • Mature-age Students: Applicants who are 21 years or older may be eligible for entry based on work experience or other qualifications.

International Students:

  • High School: Completion of high school with a GPA equivalent to 75 ATAR or higher
  • English Language Proficiency:
  • IELTS: Overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 80 with no section less than 20
  • PTE Academic: Overall score of 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50
  • Other Qualifications:
  • Students with other qualifications may be eligible for entry based on an assessment of their academic record and English language proficiency.

Language Proficiency Requirements


International Students:

  • IELTS: Overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 80 with no section less than 20
  • However, students are strongly encouraged to have a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

Additional Requirements

  • All applicants are required to submit a personal statement and a resume.
  • International students may also be required to submit a financial declaration.
  • Applicants who have completed a relevant vocational qualification may be eligible for advanced standing.
  • Applicants who have extenuating circumstances may be eligible for special entry consideration.
