Program Description:

This dual LLM program is specifically designed for students seeking careers in law and technology. It combines the expertise of two prestigious universities: King's College London and Bocconi University, Milan. Students will spend their first semester at Bocconi University, taking five required modules related to internet technology, intellectual property, data law, freedom of speech, and legal technology. In the second semester, they will move to King's College London to take 60 credits of optional modules in their chosen areas of specialization. They will also complete a dissertation at King's and either an internship/placement or a thesis at Bocconi.


Upon successful completion, graduates will receive two LLM degrees:

  • Master of Laws (LLM) in Law, Innovation & Technology from King's College London.
  • Second Level Specialized Master (LLM) in Law of Internet Technology from Bocconi University.

Tuition Fees International: Full time: See below for fee arrangements. Students will pay half of the overall fees for the year to Bocconi for study in semester 1 and half of the overall tuition fees to King’s for study in semester 2. Payable to Bocconi (2024-25): €19,000 in the following instalments: [1] € 2,500 + €32.00 Italian tax (this amount is non-refundable) - 10 September 2024; [2] € 5,500 - 10 October 2024; [3] € 5,500 - 10 November 2024; [4] € 5,500 - 10 December 2024. Payable to King's (2024-25): £16,725 Please note that the tuition fees for subsequent years of study may be subject to increases in line with King’s terms and conditions.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


UK Applicants:

  • A minimum 2:1 undergraduate Bachelor’s (honours) degree
  • If you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip).

Non-UK Applicants

  • Minimum high 2:1 undergraduate degree: with a final mark of at least 65% or above in the UK marking scheme.
  • If students are still studying: they should be achieving an average of at least 65% or above in the UK marking scheme.
  • Hold a degree in Law: i.e.
  • : a) a 5-year Integrated Master of Arts in Law or 3+2 years Master of Arts in Law from an Italian university, or b) equivalent degree in Law from a university abroad.
  • Students will apply to the dual degree programme via the Bocconi application portal.
  • They will be evaluated for admission first by Bocconi.
  • Following an initial shortlisting of applicants by Bocconi, King’s will review the applications.
  • The two admissions offices of Bocconi and King’s will make final admissions decisions on all shortlisted candidates.
  • Upon being admitted to the programme, students will be required to submit an application to King’s in order to be fully registered at that institution.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • To study at King’s, it is essential that you can communicate in English effectively in an academic environment.
  • You are usually required to provide certification of your competence in English before starting your studies.
  • Nationals of majority English speaking countries (as defined by the UKVI) who have permanently resided in this country are not usually required to complete an additional English language test.
  • This is also the case for applicants who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree (of at least three years duration), a postgraduate taught degree (of at least one year), or a PhD in a majority English speaking country (as defined by the UKVI) within five years of the course start date.
