This one-year full-time or two-year part-time MA program is designed for students who want to deepen their knowledge of world cinemas and media and explore cutting-edge approaches to studying film. The program offers an extensive range of options covering all aspects of film and media, including theory, history, style, representation, spectatorship, philosophy, and critical media practice (filmmaking).

  • The program boasts internationally renowned staff with specialist teaching and research expertise, a focus on cutting-edge ideas and developments in film studies and audio-visual media culture, and a curriculum that is international in geographical scope (covering cinema and media from European, North America, Asia, and the global south) and diverse in the range of media studied (spanning popular and independent cinemas, avant-garde film and documentary, and TV and video).

Deposit Deposit payments are credited towards the total tuition fee payment. The Home deposit is £500. The International deposit is £2000. If you receive an offer between 1 March and 20 May, payment is due within one month of receiving the offer. If you receive an offer between 16 July and 15 August, payment is due within one week of receiving the offer.
