Week 2:
Understanding democratic innovations
- Varieties of democratic innovation.
- Case studies and examples from the world of practice.
- Cutting-edge policy innovations.
Week 3:
Evaluating democratic innovations
- Evaluating the effectiveness of democratic innovations.
- Three different methods for evaluating success.
- Real-world examples of policy evaluation.
Assessment:
- One written assignment.
- Participation in webinars and discussion forums.

Entry Requirements:
EU Home Students:
- A 2:1 degree in a relevant subject, such as politics, public policy, or social science.
- 3 years of relevant work experience.
International Overseas Students (Outside the EU):
- A 2:1 degree in a relevant subject, such as politics, public policy, or social science.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
Additional Notes:
- Applicants without a 2:1 degree may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Applicants should have a strong interest in participatory and deliberative governance and democratic innovations.
- Applicants should be able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- Applicants whose first language is not English must have an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent.
- Applicants who are not native English speakers may be required to take an additional English language test.
