Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


EU Home Students:

  • A level: AAB, including a minimum of grade A in a foreign language.
  • Scottish Highers: AAAB, including Advanced Higher in a foreign language with A grade.
  • BTEC Extended Diploma: D*DD in a relevant subject, with at least a Distinction* in a foreign language.
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma: 36 points overall, including 6 points at Higher Level in a foreign language.
  • Other qualifications: Equivalent level qualifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

International Overseas Students (outside the EU):

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma: 36 points overall, including 6 points at Higher Level in a foreign language and a minimum of 5 points at Standard Level in English Language.
  • GCE A Level: AAB, including a minimum of grade A in a foreign language and a minimum of grade C in English Language.
  • SAT: 650 in Reading and Writing, and 700 in Math.
  • ACT: 30 in English, 28 in Math, and 27 in Reading.
  • TOEFL: 100 overall with a minimum of 25 in each section.
  • IELTS: 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in each section.
  • PTE Academic: 76 overall with a minimum of 65 in each section.
  • Other qualifications: Equivalent level qualifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • All applicants must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English.
  • This can be done by submitting a score from an English language test, such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic, or CAE.
  • The required score for each test is as follows:
  • TOEFL: 100 overall with a minimum of 25 in each section.
  • IELTS: 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in each section.
  • PTE Academic: 76 overall with a minimum of 65 in each section.
  • CAE: Grade C.
  • Applicants with a first language of English or who have completed their qualifying degree in an English-speaking country may be exempt from the English language requirement.

  • The University may consider applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements on a case-by-case basis, if they have relevant work experience or other qualifications.
  • Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a personal statement, outlining their reasons for wanting to study this degree program and their relevant skills and experience.
  • The University may require applicants to attend an interview as part of the admissions process.
