Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


EU home students:

  • GCSE English Language at grade C (or equivalent) or successful completion of an approved Access to Higher Education Diploma (minimum 45 credits)
  • For the majority of courses, at least 2 A Levels (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 96 UCAS tariff points from approved Level 3 qualifications, including a minimum of 16 points from two GCE A Levels, GCE AS Levels or equivalent qualifications.

International overseas students outside the EU:

  • GCSE English Language at grade B (or equivalent) or successful completion of an approved Access to Higher Education Diploma (minimum 45 credits) with at least 45 credits at Merit level or equivalent
  • For the majority of courses, at least 3 A Levels (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 120 UCAS tariff points from approved Level 3 qualifications, including a minimum of 24 points from three full GCE A Levels, GCE AS Levels or equivalent qualifications.
  • Specific entry requirements may vary depending on the chosen course of study.
  • Applications for most undergraduate courses are submitted via UCAS.
  • International students are encouraged to apply early, as visa processing times may vary.

Language Proficiency Requirements:


Students whose first language is not English:

  • Undergraduate: Must achieve an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no individual component below 5.5, or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate: Must achieve an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with no individual component below 6.0, or equivalent.
  • Specific language requirements may vary depending on the chosen course of study.
  • The university accepts a range of alternative English language qualifications.
