AHEAD
is a stimulating, part-time evening program designed to provide access to a wide range of degrees at Abertay University, regardless of prior qualifications. It is ideal for individuals who have been out of education for three years or more and do not possess the necessary qualifications for direct entry into a university degree program.
Objectives:
- Equip students with the core academic and study skills needed for successful university study.
- Provide a supportive environment for students to develop and improve their learning abilities.
- Offer a pathway to a range of undergraduate degrees at Abertay University upon successful completion.
Program Description:
- Part-time, two evenings per week for two semesters (September to May)
- Free tuition for eligible applicants
- No formal academic entry requirements, but applicants must have been out of full-time education for at least three years
- Focuses on strengthening key transferable skills like communication, IT, literacy, and numeracy
- Successful completion guarantees a place on a range of Abertay degrees (within two years of program completion) It is completed in the first semester.
- Two 15-credit subject-based modules: These modules are chosen from a range of options including social science, computing, business, health, and sports science. They are completed in the second semester.
