Bachelor of Agribusiness – BAgribusiness
The Bachelor of Agribusiness is a 3-year undergraduate degree that provides students with the skills and knowledge to succeed in the agribusiness industry. The program is designed to equip students with a strong understanding of the business and commercial aspects of farming, as well as the science and technology behind agricultural production.
Overview
The Bachelor of Agribusiness is a world-class qualification that teaches students about farm production systems, supply chain management, marketing, food economies, and international agribusiness. The program provides students with a sound knowledge of land-based systems and agribusiness, along with specialist knowledge in one area of agribusiness. Students will learn to apply and integrate scientific, technological, and business knowledge to meet marketplace demands.
Entry Requirements
To be admitted to the Bachelor of Agribusiness, students must meet the university's entrance requirements. There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, outside of university admission regulations. However, students are recommended to have credit at NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) in subjects such as agriculture, horticulture, biology, science, economics, and statistics.
Qualification Structure
The Bachelor of Agribusiness is a 360-credit program that consists of core courses, major courses, electives, and practical work experience. The program is designed to be completed in 3 years of full-time study, but part-time study is also available.
- Core courses: 135 credits
- Major courses: 165-180 credits
- Electives: 45-60 credits
- Practical work experience: 26 weeks
